the foundations stones of this mansion are dated about 1745. during the monarchical system Les Muids property was owned by the Saint Loup abbey, near Orleans, and was seized by the church and sold on march 30, 1791.
In 1828, Thomas Skottowe, englishman, son of Richard Skottowe, british naval officer lives in Orleans. Enamoured of the sweet and mysterious Sologne he decided to by lands and transformed Les Muids in a 2000 ha property. Little by little the mansion becomes a castle.

In 1869 Louis Joseph Maës, incorporator of the Clichy Crystalware, buys the property. He adds paneling and fills in moats and plants rare species in the parc. He was mayor of Clichy town and his priviledged relationship with Napoléon III who was welcome at Château Les Muids several times.
The property was inherited in the same family up to 1983, then bought by Mister Claudy Boileau who decided tu convert the family house into a hotel restaurant.
